Stamped, on the bottom of the bowl and on the bezel of the cover to the left of the opening for the ladle: the initials P.L with a crown above and a device below, the mark of Paul De Lamerie, and the lion passant; and on the bowl only: the date-letter d for 1739/40 and the leopard's head crowned.
