Date estimated. Has a good catalogue of Perthes works. The maps dated to 1851. The title page and cover say 83 maps, but there are actually 86. The U.S. maps are dated 1848 and 1847. They should be compared to the 1853 edition with the U.S. maps dated 1852 (see our #4973). This U.S. map shows the German settlements in Texas, and Deseret in what was to become Utah. With full and outline color.
