Detailed report of the telegraph systems of France, Belgium, and Switzerland, based upon a fact-finding undertaken by Malcolm J. Brown in Britain's move to nationalize its internal telegraph system in 1870. The report is divided into three sections including descriptive text providing careful analysis of the nation's telegraph system, and Brown's opinion of what he thinks are the strengths and weaknesses of each national system. Each section includes a chromolithographic map of the telegraph systems, specially published for the reports by London firm Vincent, Day & Company Lithographers. Bound in full red morocco.
