Roderich von Erckert was a German ethnographer, cartographer and officer in Russian service. and a member of the Russian Geographical Society. Erkert also published several maps, including six maps covering an area between Warthe and the Dnieper, giving an overview of the Polish nationalities of the individual parts of the country in Russia.
