Comprehensive World atlas of ancient and modern geography. Published by P. C. Lehuby, 1851, it is one of the lastest editions of Lapie's atlas. Conforms to the current physical, political and historical state of the globe. Consists of 98 pages of descriptive text, 2 pages of contents and 50 double page engraved maps hand colored in outline, except the 2 first maps: systemes Planetaires and Planispheres Celestes. Maps engraved by P. Tardieu. and Flahaut. The first part containing maps of the ancient world, and second part with modern maps of all parts of the world. Covers are quarter leather green cloth covered boards with title” Atlas Universel de Geographie - Ancienne et modern" stamped on the spine in gilt. Maps showing political and administrative boundaries, major cities, towns, rivers, canals, and roads. Relief shown by hachures. On recto of title page: "Imprimerie d' E. Duverger ..." Libray has first edition 1829-1833 copy, Published by Eymery Fruger et Cie: Pub List # 2174.000.
