Four sections making one large wall map. Shows the railway system of the United States at the beginning of the Civil War. Inset maps of Texas railways and Pensacola Harbor. Several river systems in the west and south have all towns along the rivers shown, but only on those rivers - the White River in Arkansas and the Tennessee River in Tennessee. The is an advertisement at the bottom of the map for Fowler and Wells, famous phrenologists in New York City. The map appears to be printed from wood block, as several of James T. Lloyd's maps from this period were.
